PROJECT MANAGER/SUPER
Duties include but not limited to:
To supervise and manage all phases of mechanical/HVAC projects in NYC 5 Boros and Long Island. Candidate must have a minimum of 5-year construction management experience on supervising the workers, coordinating with clients, engineer, and (sub) contractors. Duties involves project material take-off, project deliverable study and scope of work development; scheduling; recording time sheet, daily progress reports; submittals and RFIs preparation, creating change orders; conduct or attend progress meetings; on-site staff supervision; work quality and safety control.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering is required
Public project management experience is a plus
PROJECT ENGINEER
Field Engineer/Project Engineer, a professional responsible for technical aspects of the project with excellent understanding of contract documents and requirements. Comprehensive knowledge on constructability and understanding project’s needs is of utmost priority. The Project Engineer does not design the work, but instead helps staff members and trades interpret the job’s designs and ensures the job is constructed according to the plans and specs. Other people, while in doubt, verify their work with the Engineer assigned to a specific project.
Job Duties including but not limited to the following:
– Knowledge of contract specifications and drawings.
Compares specifications and contract drawings for discrepancy
Verifies constructability of the work shown in the contract documents,
Confirms fabrication methods with drafting departments,
Reviews material and equipment product information prior submission,
Compares released equipment against approved documents prior jobsite delivery,
Produces HVAC piping shop drawings and as built drawings for submission,
Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress and coordinating activities,
Maintains project budget by choosing appropriate economical solution.
– Coordinates work outside of project’s team:
(Outside contractors, Subcontractors, Vendors and Fabrication Shop)
Ensures that areas are coordinated with other trades by attending coordination meetings,
Checks drawings/submittals provided by other companies that might affect contract work,
Pre-plans and coordinates equipment’s final location with other trades,
Maintains document control between the needs of the office and other trades,
Coordinates with other engineers on alternate sites to form a list of material/equipment orders for upcoming work for shop manager.
– Coordinates work within project’s team – internal:
Ensures all drawings are managed properly ( to meet projects schedule and accuracy),
Assists in further defining fabrication standards to suit project’s requirements,
Follows up on the schedule to meet project’s deadlines,
Arranges equipment and material deliveries,
– Controls project’s progress:
Constantly updates the team for any changes to scope of work ,
Maintains most up to date status of the project by field visits and/or thru superintendent’s report,
Updates contract documents against field conditions and official correspondence,
Resolves problems that arise in the field and/or office,
– Prepares project close –out documents:
Generates red lines and maintains the list of drawings required for as-builts,
Coordinates creation of as-builts and/or final working drawings,
Prepares Operation and Maintenance Manuals (O&M manuals),
Helps develop startup & commissioning plan.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, min GPA >3.0
Min 5 year experience in the mechanical company working with sheet metal or steam fitter trades.
Proficient in 3D Autocad MEP.
Excellent peoples skills.
Self-motivated.
Capable of handling multiple projects.
Recommended:
Driver license with own car ( able to travel from jobsite to jobsite)
COST ENGINEER
Key Requirements and Responsibilities:
Degree in Engineering with specialization in Project Management or Cost Control related training.
Min 2 years relevant and similar capacity in project estimating and cost controlling.
Technically strong in project cost planning, scheduling and reporting.
Responsible to control and monitor project cost including verifying and checking of invoices and claims (change orders) from suppliers, vendors and subcontractors to ensure that all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded.
Provide planning and cost controlling support for all projects, which includes variation reporting, monitoring of milestone progress to the preparation of customer and sub billing processes, etc.
Perform and manage project activity scheduling and monitoring respective to cost and cashflow
Coordinate and work with the project management team to resolve project issues to ensure the delivery/completion of the project work.
Attend project meetings and discussions with the management team and external clients.
Perform project costing related reporting to the team and management’s review on a monthly basis to ensure that expenditures are kept within the project budget.
Track manpower and equipment usage, coordinate with project super and shop manager on procurement of new equipment.
Assist PM in preparing and negotiating change orders to client and subcontractors.
Compile, check and submit monthly requisition paperwork to client.
